Em is the largely autobiographical cartoon created by Maria Smedstad.
It follows one woman’s quest to keep it together in a world that offers far too many opportunities to do the opposite. Em has featured in publications across Europe, including News International’s thelondonpaper and The Sun, as well as Aftonbladet and Aftenposten, two of Scandinavia’s largest daily newspapers.

Maria Smedstad grew up in Sundsvall, Sweden and moved to the UK
at the age of 15.
She works as a freelance cartoonist and writer.
